B_KAISEI
Getting out the comfort zone is sometimes very difficult, this time we just need a Little push. That push is what Mr. D has given me when he comes to the workshop and proposed to carry out the Project.
A #kaiseitubes set has been used for the Project. We wanted to move away from the usual high-end italian tube sets and at the same time pay tribute to such great Japanese brand Cherubim for the inspiration of this Project.
Kaisei tubing has long been used in the manufacture of some of the Keirin frames, and also in many road steel projects. We could choose between 2 lenght sizes of tubes (long and short). We choose the longest tubes, to having more parts with the a smaller thickness (0.4 mm) and gaining a few grams without loosing rigidity and ensuring that the joints are in the thickest áreas. We have modified the upper tube to give it the desired flattened shape and to make a perfect unión with the ead tube and with the stem, which haas been made expresely for this bicycle.
For the rear triangle it was decided to have exclusive stailees steel dropouts designed in -house. The seat stays have been curved to give the frame a certain elasticity at the rear.
Internal routing brake wiring in the down tube for the direct mount brake system included in the lower parto f the chainstays. Also internal cable routing for accross the chains stays for the rear derrailleur.
Finally, it was decided to make an integrated setapost in the seat stays to give the frame a better clean lines.
The final result of this frame painted by @rakhorcycles in Chamaleon is a light frame of 1,6 Kg, for something similar to a 54 size, which together with the final assembly of componets made with the help of @fixedland, leaves a total of 6.8 kg.
This was achived with the use of @schmolkecarbon wheels, @berkcomposites saddle and other extralight elements.
